The transformation of a functionalised removable prosthesis into an implant-retained fixed prosthesis on implants: the B.A.R.I. Technique

What it covers
Video lecture description:
In this video, Dr. Venezia talks about all the information that is acquired
from the removable prosthesis and which must then be transferred to the implant-supported prosthesis.
All rehabilitation procedures, in fact, have as their first objective to capture
the prosthetic coordinates, test them and then reproduce them on the definitive prosthesis.
It will be shown how the patient retains the provisional prosthesis for a period of 6 months during which the function will be assessed and the ridges will be fully healed before finally considering the position of the supporting implants.
The B.A.R.I. Technique's own protocol then provides for the digital programming of a prosthesis that will be placed in the patient's mouth to preview the final result by assessing whether or not a correct occlusion has been achieved.
By printing out the design, a template is created that helps the operator during prosthetically guided surgery, paying particular attention to the position of the prosthesis in relation to the patient's bone bases and mucosa.
Once the surgical template is stabilized in the correct position, we will proceed with implant placement, which can be performed in either analogue or digital mode.
Topics covered in this video lecture:
- How to acquire the correct prosthetic coordinates in edentulous or irreparably compromised patients
- The assessment of function and correct implant position during the provisionalisation phase
- Prosthetically guided surgery
- The B.A.R.I. Technique workflow: from design to fixed prosthesis
- Analog finalization vs digital finalization
