In which clinical situations is the immediate loading of single tooth recommended?
The first part of this video lecture is dedicated to the analysis of two situations in which immediate loading is recommended in the scientific literature: when the extraction site has healed some time after extraction or by performing immediate post-extraction loading.
Dr. Degidi shows how immediate loading of single tooth in the
healed site tends to be avoided because of the loss of volume
and bone quality that follow the extraction.
The various clinical cases presented in this lecture will help
participants understand how it is necessary to rebuild the alveolar
site to restore its bone morphology using biomaterial grafts or autologous bone.
Healed sites are therefore not an indication for immediate loading, which is, on the other hand, judged by Dr. Degidi to be necessary in immediately post-extraction sites.
The speaker, in fact, with the aid of illustrative clinical videos highlights how immediate post-extraction loading is predictable in the long term and how bone peaks, volumes and quality are intact years later.
