In this first introductory video lesson, Dr. Loi provides an overview of the history and evolution of prosthetic techniques, explaining the transition from traditional horizontal preparation with finish lines to vertical preparation.
Through a series of clinical cases, the speaker demonstrates how it is now possible to ensure tissue stability around prosthetic restorations, minimizing the risk of recession—especially in anterior regions—while shaping soft tissue morphology to create favorable conditions for the long-term maintenance of periodontal health and aesthetic outcomes.

The instructor
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery with a specialization in Odontostomatology and Prosthetic Dentistry from the University of Cagliari, Dr. Ignazio Loi is an Active Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry. He is the creator and leading global expert of the simplified prosthetic technique B.O.P.T.® and regularly holds congresses and lectures on the topic worldwide.
