Clinical video description:
In this clinical video, Dr. Luca Gobbato will show the extraction procedure of tooth 21, affected by a severe post-traumatic fracture, with simultaneous placement of an implant.
In the first part of the presentation, participants will be able to appreciate the
preliminary stages of treatment; from radiographic analysis to post-extraction
evaluation paying particular attention to the quality of the buccal bone,
the depth of the crest and the possible presence of granulation tissue.
Treatment will continue with implant height planning with the aim of achieving
good primary stability considering that the area is compromised by palatal resorption.
The implant insertion will be performed with the help of a guide in order to verify the correct
mesio-distal position and the correct apico-coronal depth. Once placed, the implant
will be excessively distant from the vestibular wall; this distance will be filled with a slow-resorbing biomaterial.
In addition, an appropriately disepithelized palatal connective graft will be
placed to improve the condition of the adjacent soft tissues and perfectly close the hole.
The case will finally conclude with the application of a Maryland followed, after a healing period of 3 months, by provisional prosthesis.
