In this lecture, the focus is on an evolution of the lateral approach that decreased the level of invasiveness of the procedure, making it similar to the crestal approach.
Participants will note that this evolution is due to both the innovative flap design and the change in terms of antrostomy.
The technique in question, called SAD (Simplified Antrostomy Design) simplifies sinus elevation and decreases the risk of membrane perforation.
Finally, the Low Window Technique, a further evolution of the SAD technique that is even less invasive, will be discussed
