La ausencia de profundidad vestibular, la presencia de un frenillo y la falta de tejido apical queratinizado permiten al cirujano describir minuciosamente cada paso de la técnica de colgajo avanzado coronalmente. La descripción nos permite apreciar los criterios en los que se basa la aplicación clínica de la técnica bilaminar y como la sinergia entre el desplazamiento coronario del colgajo y la aplicación de un injerto de tejido conectivo recogido del paladar garantiza la cobertura radicular y la estabilidad en el tiempo.

The first stage of this learning experience focuses on the theoretical aspects
characterizing the rationale behind periodontal surgery.
Participants will receive a comprehensive and up-to-date training on the latest developments in the surgical management of simple and complex cases with standard and replicable protocols.

Giovanni Zucchelli
Giovanni Zucchelli, DDS, Ph.D. graduated in 1988 from the University of Bologna, Italy with a degree in dentistry. He was Professor of Periodontology and Implantology at the University of Bologna, Italy, from 2000 to 2025. Giovanni Zucchelli received many awards for clinical research in periodontology in Europe and the United States. Innovator of several soft tissue plastic surgical techniques, he is also author of more than 100 publications in Pubmed. He is speaker at major international conferences on periodontology and has taught theoretical and practical (with live surgery) courses in numerous countries. Zucchelli is the author of the book titled, "Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery" best seller from Quintessence Publishing which is published in 10 different languages and co-author of two illustrated textbooks on periodontal plastic surgery (Ed. Martina) and of the chapter "Mucogingival Therapy-Periodontal Plastic Surgery" in Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (Lindhe J, Lang NP, Karring T [eds], Wiley-Blackwell).
