Livio Yoshinaga, smile architect and pioneer of high-tech digital dentistry, presents the SKYN Concept: an innovative approach that extends the potential of CAD/CAM systems beyond traditional workflows, allowing for superior aesthetic and functional results.
The course introduces a complete digital workflow that integrates photography, video, and 3D design, supported by an extensive library of natural teeth created for intuitive and reproducible smile design. Participants will follow the clinical protocol step by step—from digital documentation using Digital Smile Design (DSD) and smile analysis to the design of the future smile—as well as the fabrication of “skyns”, thin composite veneers that replicate natural morphology and transfer the digital design directly to the patient’s mouth.
Through the presentation of multiple clinical cases, participants will also learn to control key elements such as emergence profile, incisal edge, gingival zenith, and tooth shape to achieve a harmonious outcome, and how to apply the SKYN Concept to simplify the management of complex cases, increasing predictability and offering a standardized workflow to be shared with the dental laboratory.
By combining advanced digital tools, realistic mock-ups, and direct patient validation, the SKYN Concept provides a more efficient and satisfying clinical experience, enabling clinicians to integrate function, biology, and aesthetics into one treatment protocol.
