Achieve a perfect emergence profile using contemporary injectable techniques and transparent matrices for a seamless transition between centrals and canines.
In this lesson, Dr. Bora Korkut demonstrates a contemporary approach to lateral incisor restoration using highly polishable flowable composites. The core of the procedure relies on the use of transparent matrices to guide the injection, ensuring a precise and predictable emergence profile.
Dr. Korkut details his Selective Etching technique, highlighting why etching enamel is mandatory while leaving dentin untouched to optimize the adhesive interface. The lesson also explores the balance between Additive and Subtractive techniques to match the mirroring lateral incisor and maintain harmony with the surrounding dentition.
Finally, the CPT Technique is applied to manage interdental thickness and refine the incisal embrasures.
The integration of injectable materials and matrix-guided shaping allows for maximum anatomical control, ensuring that the lateral incisors perfectly complement the aesthetic "frame" of the smile.
Key topics covered in this lecture:
- Injectable Composite Protocol: Using transparent matrices for matrix-guided composite delivery.
- Selective Etching: Clinical rationale for enamel-only etching to preserve pulp health and maximize bond.
- Smile Harmony: Strategies to match shape and volume with central incisors and canines.
- Embrasures & Morphology: Refining incisal embrasures and managing interdental thickness via the CPT Technique.
