Starting from a clinical case of trauma and vertical root fracture on a central incisor, the session walks through the complete workflow—from diagnosis and atraumatic extraction to provisional restoration fabrication.
Participants will learn how to manage compromised sockets with dual-zone grafting and prosthetic socket sealing, maintaining tissue stability and bone volume. The lecture also explores the design of custom abutments and Ti-Base components, as well as digital scanning and design workflows that enhance precision and control over soft tissue contours.

Stephen J. Chu, DMD, MSD, CDT received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his Master of Science degree (MSD) in restorative dentistry and completed the advanced education program in prosthodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Chu subsequently became a board-certified dental technician in ceramics and obtained a master’s degree in dental technology from the New York University College of Dentistry (MDT). He is the former director of the continuing education program in advanced esthetic dentistry at NYUCD. He is also a former Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at NYUCD. Dr. Chu has authored seven textbooks collectively in the field of aesthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, color in dentistry and implant dentistry. He has published over 90 articles in the dental literature and is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry (JERD). He is a much sought-after teacher and a worldwide lecturer in aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry.
