In this lesson, Dr. Paniz focuses on the features of vertical and horizontal finish lines in teeth preparation and discuss the properties of the vertical finishing line without a defined margin, as well as the characteristics of the horizontal sharp line with a clear finishing chamfer.
The lecturer then illustrates the patient’s characteristics that the clinician must take into consideration when selecting between vertical and horizontal preparation: the patient’s esthetic expectations, periodontal phenotype, medical history, and oral hygiene (with a focus on smoking habits).
