What it covers
In this new Re-LIVE Surgery, Prof. Zucchelli will deal with a missing tooth at the level of the lateral incisor. The surgeon’s objective is to restore the lateral incisor by increasing the high of the papilla distal to the central incisor and also mesial to the canine.
There’s a situation of papilla loss and that’s why the surgeon has to make an augmentation of the soft tissue of the edentulous site, but the patient already undergone many surgeries and for this reason there are many scarves and frenulum in the surgical site; Prof. Zucchelli’s choice is to execute a modified Platform Technique.

characterizing the rationale behind periodontal surgery.
Participants will receive a comprehensive and up-to-date training on the latest developments in the surgical management of simple and complex cases with standard and replicable protocols.

Giovanni Zucchelli
Giovanni Zucchelli, DDS, Ph.D. graduated in 1988 from the University of Bologna, Italy with a degree in dentistry. He was Professor of Periodontology and Implantology at the University of Bologna, Italy, from 2000 to 2025. Giovanni Zucchelli received many awards for clinical research in periodontology in Europe and the United States. Innovator of several soft tissue plastic surgical techniques, he is also author of more than 100 publications in Pubmed. He is speaker at major international conferences on periodontology and has taught theoretical and practical (with live surgery) courses in numerous countries. Zucchelli is the author of the book titled, "Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery" best seller from Quintessence Publishing which is published in 10 different languages and co-author of two illustrated textbooks on periodontal plastic surgery (Ed. Martina) and of the chapter "Mucogingival Therapy-Periodontal Plastic Surgery" in Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (Lindhe J, Lang NP, Karring T [eds], Wiley-Blackwell).
