What it covers
The stability of the implant-abutment connection is a cornerstone of long-term success. Dr. Gracis analyzes interface micromovements and their consequences on surrounding tissues, explaining how correct preload ensures uniform force transmission from the crown to the bone. The role of abutment materials and clinical protocols for component application are also detailed to reduce the risk of screw loosening and preserve tissue stability.
In particular, this lesson focuses on:
- Geometry of the implant-abutment connection and selection of abutment materials.
- Interface micromovements: causes, consequences, and prevention.
- The concept of preload: correct torque, tools, and protocols.
- Uniform force transmission along the implant-prosthetic column and tissue stability.
