Dr. Stephen Chu welcomes you to Prosthetic Principles for Predictable Aesthetics Around Teeth and Implants, the course where he shares his vision of aesthetic dentistry—from biological concepts to prosthetic and surgical techniques.
The course is structured into three main modules. The first module focuses on tooth size, shape, and biometrics, emphasizing diagnostic protocols and interdisciplinary planning to achieve harmony between teeth and soft tissues.
The second module delves into immediate implant placement in the aesthetic zone, presenting minimally invasive surgical techniques, dual-zone grafting, and prosthetic socket seal strategies designed to preserve architecture and optimize aesthetic outcomes.
The third module addresses the management and remediation of ailing implants, guiding clinicians through the biological and prosthetic criteria for deciding whether to retain, remove, or reconstruct implants affected by peri-implant tissue loss.
Drawing from decades of interdisciplinary experience and real-life clinical cases, Dr. Chu will guide you through the concepts and decision-making processes for predictable and long-lasting outcomes in the aesthetic zone, providing insights into the latest scientific evidence, implant macro-geometry design, abutment customization, and digital workflows.
The course includes:
- 10 video lessons
- Analysis of real-life clinical cases
Topics covered in the course:
- Biometric and micro-aesthetic principles for tooth and gingival harmony
- Treatment planning strategies for compromised dentition
- Minimally invasive protocols for immediate implant placement
- Dual-zone grafting and prosthetic socket sealing
- Risk management in the aesthetic zone
- Decision-making for implant remediation: save, remove, or reconstruct?
- Soft-tissue sculpting and prosthetic contouring
At the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Diagnose and plan aesthetic treatments based on biometric and soft-tissue analysis
- Apply evidence-based protocols for immediate implant placement and tissue preservation
- Select the appropriate implant macro-geometry and abutment design to maintain gingival architecture
- Prevent and manage aesthetic complications in immediate implant therapy, i.e. apical socket perforation, labial bone loss, papilla loss, and midfacial recession
- Treat ailing implants and compromised dentition through surgical, restorative, and prosthetic strategies and interdisciplinary approaches
- Optimize aesthetic integration by designing restorative contours and pink prosthetic solutions
