What it covers
In this first introductory lecture, Prof. Rasperini will show how periodontal regeneration techniques have evolved over the last twenty years and then he will focus on the presentation, as an example, of clinical cases in which interproximal attachment loss has occurred.
Participants will have the chance to observe how clinical cases with the same characteristics have been treated differently over time thus being able to appreciate the evolution of the treatment methodologies always aimed at less invasiveness.
In particular, this lecture covers the following topics:
- Description of surgical techniques for treatment of intrabony defects with Emdogain
- Discussion of papers from the latest decades to show the evolution of these techniques
- New diagnostic protocols and classifications
- The need of uplifting the papilla in coronal direction
- The need of a wide flap to mesially and distally preserve the papilla
