Professore a Contratto in Parodontologia presso il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria dell’ Universita’ di Catania. Socio Attivo della SIdP, della EFP, della IAO e della AO. Fellow ITI. Membro Internazionale della AAP. Socio effettivo Amici di Brugg. Direttore Scientifico di PROED (Institute for Professional Education in Dentistry, Torino). Presidente della Fondazione Giuseppe Cardaropoli per la Ricerca e la Cura in Parodontologia. Ha conseguito il diploma di Perfezionamento “Harvard Longitudinal Course in Periodontology and Implantology” presso la Harvard Dental School di Boston ed il diploma di Perfezionamento “Eccellenza in Biomeccanica” presso l’Università di Siena. Vincitore del Premio Goldman per la ricerca clinica al XI Congresso Nazionale SIdP e del Premio Nazionale in Ortodonzia Clinica al XVII Congresso Internazionale SIDO. Membro del Board Editoriale per The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry e The International Journal of Oral Implantology, Reviewer per il Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Journal of Periodontology e American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. Relatore in Congressi Nazionali ed Internazionali, ha tenuto relazioni in Italia, Europa, Americhe, Asia ed Australia. È autore di numerose pubblicazioni internazionali su riviste “peer-review” su temi di parodontologia, implantologia e rigenerazione tissutale. E’ autore del capitolo “Seeking the Optimal Aesthetic Result in the Maxillary Anterior” nel libro “Implant Therapy: Clinical Approaches and Evidence of Success” di Nevins M. & Wang H.L. (Quintessence Publishing, 2019). E’ autore del testo “Tessuti molli ed estetica rosa in terapia implantare” (Quintessence Publishing, 2018) e del testo “Chirurgia parodontale plastica e rigenerativa” (Edra Edizioni, 2021).
